About Me

I was born in Oakland, California (my parents are Vietnamese Refugees) and raised in southern California and Arizona. I earned a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Arizona, and then completed my M.S. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Rice University. I am a first generation college student and advocate for first generation students and underrepresented groups across the S.T.E.M. and social sciences.

Life Advice: Talent deserves opportunities! And don't peak too early.

I have lived in California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, and now am in Hawai'i. I have enjoyed everywhere I have lived and am motivated to understand the complexity and diversity of the human experience. My hobbies include reading, traveling, hiking, drinking coffee, and researching.
